In case you hadn’t already noticed, I like airplanes. My desire to be a pilot is probably the worst kept secret ever. So it should come as no surprise that when I found out about Challenge Air, I was sure to sign up.

Some of the Challenge Air planes

Challenge Air builds self-esteem and confidence of children and youth with specials needs, through the experience of flight. (From their mission statement.) As you may know, our little Becky has a chromosome disorder, so this was a perfect opportunity for us.

The day started out with a Batman photo-op. Becky is a big fan of superheroes, although she made her sister stand in the middle.

Becky, Xondra, and Batman

They had a bunch of activities for the kids while we waited for our turn.

And then it was time for our flight.

Becky sat up front, and got to fly.

It was a quick turn around Fort Worth.

Will Rogers Colleseum and Casa Manana Theater

A fun day for all. But now that flying bug is itching pretty bad. Hopefully Bumpy Landings will sell well enough to sponsor my own flying lessons.

Anyone want to buy a book?
